Butterflies
These four solo pieces are aimed at young guitarists at around UK grades 1 – 3 standard. The initial idea for them came from the fact that I needed more material to develop my pupils’ ability to deal with the transition from using only open string bass notes to fretted bass notes at the same time as playing a melody. I wanted pieces that did not involve too many awkward fingerings for the left hand, and these were the result. There is about 8 minutes music here, but the audio sample (computer playback only) below gives you about 30 seconds from each movement.
