If you want to learn to play a musical instrument
If you want to learn to play a musical instrument, there is no reason to put it off, whatever your age. Good quality budget instrument prices are at an all time low and you can really get a long way without spending too much.
There is also a lot of free help available online in the form of videos and written material. Your main problem at the beginning is sorting out the good advice from the bad advice – and that is where a good teacher comes in! Whoever you go to for lessons, the important thing is to find a teacher that you get on with and who has the relevant expertise in your chosen area.
I can offer tuition for all ages on the clarinet, saxophone and flute. This would normally include aspects of music theory and aural training as appropriate to your level and aspirations. I have many years’ experience with ABRSM and Trinity exams and can prepare you for these. It is important to gain experience in classical, jazz and pop music and all musical genres would be included in tuition with me – many people do not always realise that the musicians of the Baroque and Classical periods were great improvisers!
If you want to start a course of lessons or simply have a consultation (free) get in touch. If you are at school (as with most of my pupils), please get in touch through your parents / guardians.
